Below is the landing page
Before we click on "Start Filing", let's explain all you are seeing on this page.
What is self-assessment?
Self-assessment is the process where you, the taxpayer, calculate your own tax liability, declare your income, and determine how much tax you owe for a particular tax period—rather than waiting for the tax authority to calculate it for you.
In simple terms:
You tell the tax authority what you earned, calculate the tax due based on the applicable rules, and pay the amount due.
Example
Suppose a taxpayer earns income from a business during the year.
Instead of waiting for the tax authority to tell the taxpayer what to pay, the taxpayer:
calculates the taxable income → determines the tax payable → files the return → pays the tax due.
That's self-assessment.
What about the "Make Assessment Payment" button?
This applies when You were previously assessed and now want to pay for the assessment. In this case, you will click "Self Assessment" and enter the "Mandate Code".
This mandate code can be visibly seen on the demand notice.
Self Assessment
Self Assessment is an annual filing. So, Click on Self Assessment button and enter any of the following "TIN, Email or Phone"
Then, click on "Start Filing"
You will see a confirmation dialogue box displaying all the TIN associated with details entered.
Why you may see more than one TIN
That means you can enter an email or phone number, and those details might be tied to two or more TINs. However, if its your TIN you entered, you will certainly see only details associated with your TIN.
Choose your TIN and continue
Remember, since it's a Direct assessment annual filing, your choice should be an individual TIN just in case your TIN is also tied to your corporate TIN.
